On HYPER-DISPENSATIONALISM.
Recently, I watched a video titled "Heresies" put out by Pastor Mike Greer's YouTube channel, mgreer511002. While I am familiar with the teachings of Hyper-Dispensationalism, I was quite rudely taken aback by some of the musings that were perpetuated in that video. The error and heresy I heard went way and beyond blasphemy.

Hyper-Dispensationalism is anti-EVERYTHING they actually are. They are Humanists, they are Arminians, they are Universalists, they are anti-Scripture, leaning ONLY on the Pauline epistles for their doctrine. They do not believe God is Sovereign, they are free will advocates as well as Common Grace advocates. They are rabidly dispensational in their eschatology. They believe that the "Grace Era" will end with the Rapture, and the Tribulation "saints" will only be saved if they endure to the end, thus nullifying the saving work of Christ on the cross for a certain group of people. This makes a mockery of Acts 4:12, which states that there is NO other name under heaven, given among men by which we must be saved. They do not agree amongst themselves which of the three Acts Dispensations they hold to, be it Acts 2 Dispensationalists, Mid-Acts dispensationalists or Acts 28 Dispensationalists. The can and do disagree vehemently with one another on many of their dogmas.

Finally, many of them also deny the Genesis 1 account of Creation. They insist on calling themselves "Old Earth Creationists". This makes a mockery of God's infallible revelation that HE created the heavens and the earth. God did NOT leave that issue open to discussion. He says quite clearly in His infallible word, that HE spoke the universe into existence, and it is HIS word which maintains it in it's present state. God is also very clear on the issue, that HE created the universe in SIX LITERAL DAYS. On the 7th Day, God rested and called it holy. JediMan672 is a particularly avid proliferator of Old Earth Creationism.

They prefer to call themselves "Grace Believers", and I will admit that these people do get it right to a degree when it comes to the Gospel. They are of the few who do actually attempt to preach the Gospel of Grace, however, their surrounding doctrine is so far off that they often make the precious gospel of non-effect.

Regarding their Gospel preaching though, it HAS to be said that most of them preach a humanist, faith/works Gospel. This, I find, is because they do NOT understand who 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 is actually written to. Because of this, they will preach "believe", "receive", and "trust" (which are verbs/actions) as PART of their gospel presentation. This is a serious error, known as the Galatian heresy and is condemned by Paul in Galatians 1:8-9.

I will post a link to Mike Greer's original video in this description box, so that you may watch the 28 minute sermon at your leisure. I could only pick out a few errors in the time allotted to me to make this video. I have tried to deal with the worst ones I came across, but I had to ditch many others. Hyper-Dispensationalism is a massive error. The problem is where to start with this teaching. It would take, literally years of study and writing to correct ALL the error they hold to and teach. It is very, very difficult to teach these people anything. They think they are the Elite - seriously. If you have a Hyper-D friend, the only thing I would suggest, if your friend will allow it, it to try to show them their error with Scripture and PRAY for them

TOMASO ALBINONI's "Adagio" with Sissel, Il Divo, The Eroica Trio, Dominic Miller, Mostar Sinfonie





Tomaso Giovanni Albinoni was born in Venice in 1671, eldest son of a wealthy paper merchant. At an early age he became proficient as a singer and, more notably, as a violinist, though not being a member of the performers' guild he was unable to play publicly so he turned his hand to composition. His first opera, Zenobia, regina de Palmireni, was produced in Venice in 1694, coinciding with his first collection of instrumental music, the 12 Sonate a tre, Op.1. Thereafter he divided his attention almost equally between vocal composition (operas, serenatas and cantatas) and instrumental composition (sonatas and concertos).

Until his father's death in 1709, he was able to cultivate music more for pleasure than for profit, referring to himself as "Dilettante Veneto" - a term which in 18th century Italy was totally devoid of unfavorable connotations. Under the terms of his father's will he was relieved of the duty (which he would normally have assumed as eldest son) to take charge of the family business, this task being given to his younger brothers. Henceforth he was to be a full-time musician, a prolific composer who according to one report, also ran a successful academy of singing.

A lifelong resident of Venice, Albnoni married an opera singer, Margherita Raimondi (d 1721), and composed as many as 81 operas several of which were performed in northern Europe from the 1720s onwards. In 1722 he traveled to Munich at the invitation of the Elector of Bavaria to supervise performances of I veri amici and Il trionfo d'amore as part of the wedding celebrations for the Prince-Elector and the daughter of the late Emperor Joseph I.

Most of his operatic works have been lost, having not been published during his lifetime. Nine collections of instrumental works were however published, meeting with considerable success and consequent reprints; thus it is as a composer of instrumental music (99 sonatas, 59 concertos and 9 sinfonias) that he is known today. In his lifetime these works were favorably compared with those of Corelli and Vivaldi, and his nine collections published in Italy, Amsterdam and London were either dedicated to or sponsored by an impressive list of southern European nobility.

Albinoni was particularly fond of the oboe, a relatively new introduction in Italy, and is credited with being the first Italian to compose oboe concertos (Op. 7, 1715). Prior to Op.7, Albinoni had not published any compositions with parts for wind instruments.

The concerto, in particular, had been regarded as the province of stringed instruments. It is likely that the first concertos featuring a solo oboe appeared from German composers such as Telemann or Handel. Nevertheless, the four concertos with one oboe (Nos. 3, 6, 9 and 12) and the four with two oboes (Nos. 2, 5, 8 and 11) in Albinoni's Op.7 were the first of their kind to be published, and proved so successful that the composer repeated the formula in Op.9 (1722).

Though Albinoni resided in Venice all his life, he traveled frequently throughout southern Europe; the European nobility would also have made his acquaintance in Venice, now a popular destination city. With its commercial fortunes in the Adriatic and Mediterranean in decline, the enterprising City-State turned to tourism as its new source of wealth, taking advantage of its fabled water setting and ornate buildings, and putting on elongated and elaborate carnivals which regularly attracted the European courts and nobility.

Apart from some further instrumental works circulating in manuscript in 1735, little is known of Albinoni's life and musical activity after the mid-1720s. However, so much of his output has been lost, one can surely not put our lack of knowledge down to musical or composition inactivity. Much of his work was lost during the latter years of World War II with the bombing of Dresden and the Dresden State library -- which brings us to the celebrated Adagio.

Albinoni died in 1751, in the city of his birth.

Classical Series: Rachmaninoff's 2nd Piano Concerto - Eric Carmen, "All By Myself".






The Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18, is a concerto for piano and orchestra composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff between the autumn of 1900 and April 1901. The second and third movements were first performed with the composer as soloist on 2 December 1900.[2] The complete work was premiered, again with the composer as soloist, on 27 October 1901, with his cousin Alexander Siloti conducting. This piece is one of Rachmaninoff's most enduringly popular pieces, and established his fame as a concerto composer

At its 1897 premiere, Rachmaninoff's first symphony, though now considered a significant achievement, was derided by contemporary critics. Compounded by problems in his personal life, Rachmaninoff fell into a depression that lasted for several years. His second piano concerto confirmed his recovery from clinical depression and writer's block. The concerto was dedicated to Nikolai Dahl, a physician who had done much to restore Rachmaninoff's self-confidence.

"All by Myself" is a power ballad written and performed by Eric Carmen in 1975.

The verse borrows heavily from the second movement (Adagio Sostenuto) of Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Opus 18, which Carmen believed was in the public domain. Having found it was not only after the record had been issued, Carmen had to come to an agreement with the Rachmaninoff estate. Early versions, therefore, only give writing credit to Carmen while later versions also credit Rachmaninoff. The chorus borrows from a song "Let's Pretend" that Carmen had written for the Raspberries in 1973. Carmen's full version has an extended piano solo and lasts over seven minutes. There is also an edited version of 4 minutes 22 seconds.

The song was the first release from Carmen's first solo LP after leaving the power pop group the Raspberries and was originally recorded by the author and released in December 1975 to great success. It reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 1 on Cash Box Top 100 Singles and number 12 in the UK. The single sold more than one million copies in the United States and was certified gold by the RIAA in April 1976. In a 2006 poll for UK's Five programme Britain's Favourite Break-up Songs Eric Carmen's version of this song was voted seventeenth.

David Meece - Brokenness!





I made this video after I was badly betrayed by a "friend" in a group I was part of on YouTube. The woman was so brazen, that she did not even notice the two fleeting shots of snarling wolves in this video and she wrote a glowing comment in the comment section, which I subsequently removed. Today, this poor lady is deeply into heresy and the thriving ministry she once had on YouTube in now of nought. I cannot forget how much I loved this woman once - as if she was my own daughter. Nonetheless, God has helped me to forgive and move on.

THE DYING SWAN
The Dying Swan (originally The Swan) is a ballet choreographed by Mikhail Fokine in 1905 to Camille Saint-Saëns's cello solo Le Cygne from Le Carnaval des Animaux as a pièce d'occasion for the ballerina Anna Pavlova. The short ballet follows the last moments in the life of a swan, and was first presented in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1905. Pavlova performed the dance about 4,000 times. The ballet has since influenced modern interpretations of Odette in Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake and has inspired non-traditional interpretations and various adaptations.
Inspired by swans that she had seen in public parks and Alfred, Lord Tennyson's poem "The Dying Swan", Anna Pavlova (who had just become a ballerina at the Mariinsky Theatre) asked Michel Fokine, who had also read the poem, to create a solo ballet for her for a 1905 concert being given by artists from the chorus of the Imperial Mariinsky Opera. Fokine suggested Saint-Saëns's cello solo, Le Cygne (which Fokine had been playing at home on a mandolin to a friend's piano accompaniment) as the work's musical basis and Pavlova agreed. A rehearsal was arranged and the short dance completed very quickly. Fokine remarked in Dance Magazine (August 1931):
It was almost an improvisation. I danced in front of her, she directly behind me. Then she danced and I walked alongside her, curving her arms and correcting details of poses. Prior to this composition, I was accused of barefooted tendencies and of rejecting toe dancing in general. The Dying Swan was my answer to such criticism. This dance became the symbol of the New Russian Ballet. It was a combination of masterful technique with expressiveness. It was like a proof that the dance could and should satisfy not only the eye, but through the medium of the eye should penetrate the soul.
In 1934, Fokine told Arnold Haskell, author of Balletomania :
Small work as it is, [...] it was 'revolutionary' then, and illustrated admirably the transition between the old and the new, for here I make use of the technique of the old dance and the traditional costume, and a highly developed technique is necessary, but the purpose of the dance is not to display that technique but to create the symbol of the everlasting struggle in this life and all that is mortal. It is a dance of the whole body and not of the limbs only; it appeals not merely to the eye but to the emotions and the imagination.

The Dying Swan was first performed at a gala in the Noblemen's Hall, St. Petersburg, Russia on Friday, 22 December 1905, and first performed in the United States at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York on 18 March 1910, with Pavlova in the role. American dance critic and photographer Carl Van Vechten noted that the ballet was "the most exquisite specimen of [Pavlova's] art which she has yet given to the public." Pavlova performed the role some 4,000 times and, on her deathbed in The Hague, reportedly cried, "Prepare my swan costume."

Fokine's granddaughter Isabelle notes that the ballet does not make "enormous technical demands" on the dancer but it does make "enormous artistic ones because every movement and every gesture should signify a different experience" which is "emerging from someone who is attempting to escape death". She notes that modern performances are significantly different from her grandfather's original conception and that the solo today is often made to appear to be a variation of Swan Lake—"Odette at death's door". The ballet is not about a ballerina being able to transform herself into a swan, she states, but about death, with the swan simply being a metaphor for that.

One insidious method of denying Justification By Faith Alone is to simply deny the Covenant of Works.
Some of the individuals who are guilty of mixing the Law and the Gospel in this manner actually profess to be Reformed in their theology. For example, those who follow John Murray (Presbyterian), John Piper (Baptist), and those that follow Douglas Wilson (Federal Vision) deny the Covenant of Works and contradict the Bible, while actually professing to be Reformed.

In this sermon, Mr. Collier demonstrates the Covenant of Works from Scripture Alone. In the next sermon, we will see how a denial of the Covenant of Works necessarily leads to mixing the Law and the Gospel and denying Justification By Faith Alone.

The Law / Gospel Distinction 6 - Monty Lloyd Collier.



In this sermon, Mr. Collier shows how a denial of the Covenant of Works necessarily mixes the Law and the Gospel together--destroying Justification By Faith Alone. Popular men today, such as Daniel P. Fuller, John Piper, Douglas Wilson, and Norman Shepherd have denied the Covenant of Works, then went on to teach Justification by faith and works. Don't fall for this nonsense.

In this sermon, Mr. Collier demonstrates how a denial of The Preservation Of The Saints necessarily leads to a mixing of Law and Gospel. Those who deny The Preservation Of The Saints assert that God places believers on probation to see if they will continue in good works or forfeit their justification by committing some mortal sin. This is simply the old Roman Catholic heresy of double justification. The Bible rejects this Catholic nonsense, for it plainly teaches that the justified are not placed on probation when they come to faith, they are not placed back under the Covenant of Works, but they are justified and preserved forever by grace alone!

Law / Gospel Distinction (8) - Monty Lloyd Collier



This is the final part in an 8 part series on the Law/Gospel Distinction.

In this sermon preached to Geneva Dutch Calvinist Church, Mr. Collier explains how those who properly teach Law / Gospel Distinction establish the Law and avoid antinomianism. After a definition of antinomianism is given, Mr. Collier explains that if you reject Justification By Faith Alone, then you necessarily embrace antinomianism.

The Law is established as a Covenant of Works before one is justified, then it is established as a rule of life after one has been perfectly justified. While the Law directs Christians on how they should love God and their neighbor--it is only the Gospel (and the promises annexed to it) that motivate the Christian to obey the Ten Commandments.

Christians do not strive to keep the Law in order to merit salvation, but they strive to keep the Law to show their deep gratitude to God for so great a deliverance in Christ Jesus our Lord. Although our good works are not necessary for our salvation, although our good works do not merit our justification in part or in full, Mr. Collier explains several reasons why good works are necessary for the Christian life. For example, Good works show our gratitude to God for our justification, which is only by the imputed righteousness of Christ received by faith alone. Good works allow others to see them and glorify God. Good works are how we demonstrate to others that we believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And, good works are good for our neighbor.

So in all of this, the Christian's good works are necessary--even though they are NOT necessary for our justification before God. It is ONLY the active and passive obedience of Jesus Christ imputed to us that is necessary for our justification before God!

St James Church Massacre - Cape Town, South Africa, as relayed by Frank Retief.


A terrorist attack on St. James Church in Cape Town, South Africa left 11 people dead and 58 wounded.

At about 7:30pm, on Sunday 25th July, while the congregation of 1400 listened to a hymn of worship, a group of gunmen burst into the church and opened fire with automatic weapons.

"I noticed the handle of the side door facing the congregation turn and then the doors were kicked open. A black man wearing some kind of overall was standing in the doorway. He was carrying an assault rifle - it looked like an AK 47. As he stepped forward he raised the rifle, cocked it and fired it on full automatic directly into the congregation."

Another eye-witness described it this way: "I saw this man kick open the door next to the stage and holding his rifle from the hip he opened up on us spraying bullets across a wide arc into the packed congregation. But before he even opened fire, two other black men who seemed to be wearing some olive green uniforms lobbed two handgrenades into the centre of the church."

"There was this trail of smoke from the grenades and a few puffs of smoke from the first shots fired. The grenades were still in the air when he started firing."

"As I dived under the pew for cover I heard two grenades explode. I looked up and saw pews sticking up into the air. The firing went on for a while and then suddenly everything was quiet."

For over 11 years Frontline Fellowship has taken the Gospel to the war zones. On Sunday 25th July 1993 the war zones came to us. Our mission headquarters are a few metres from St. James on the same road. Several of our workers are members and both my father and my brother were converted at St. James.

I had just been singing with my daughter and was about to pray with her before putting her to bed when the phone rang. "It was the worst nightmare, Peter, St. James has been attacked by terrorists."

As I sped to the church my mind reeled with the implications. I thought of my many friends there and prayed that they would be safe. Vivid memories of blood splattered churches and scenes of massacres in Angola and Mozambique flooded my mind.

As if in sympathy with the storm in many hearts, lightning flashed across the sky and the heavens wept in a blinding downpour of torrential rain. Above the roar of the rain the air was filled with wailing sirens from convoys of ambulances, police vehicles and fire engines as they converged upon 3rd Avenue, Kenilworth. Flashing lights and flashing lightning lit up a scene of dazed survivors fleeing from the church, weeping church-goers praying in the rain and frantic relatives searching for loved ones.

I was soaked as I stumbled into the church. The tiles in the foyer were smeared with blood. Inside the church there were several bodies lying on the bloodstained carpets or on shrapnel scarred pews. Some wooden pews were overturned. There was a hole in the floor where one grenade had exploded. Prayer books, music sheets, welcome cards and Bibles were strewn amongst the pools of blood. The ceiling was pockmarked with shrapnel.

JOHN WILLIAM ROBBINS.

Dr. Robbins was a resident of Unicoi County, Tennessee. Born and reared in Pennsylvania, he received his A. B. from Grove City College (Pennsylvania) in 1969, cum laude, with Highest Honors in Political Science. He pursued graduate studies at The Johns Hopkins University (Maryland), earning his Masters in Political Theory (1970) at age 21, and his Doctorate in Philosophy and Political Theory (1973) at age 24.

In 1973 Dr. Robbins became Legislative Assistant to a Member of Congress from Indiana, Earl Landgrebe, and subsequently worked, over the next 20 years, in several capacities for several public policy institutions: The Heritage Foundation (Economic Analyst), The Templeton Foundation (Consultant), Western Islands (Editor), Tax Reform Immediately (National Director), The Foundation for Economic Education (Editor of The Freeman), and The Institute for Policy Innovation (President). He served as Legislative Assistant (1976, 1979-1981) and Chief of Staff (1981-1985) to a Member of Congress from Texas, Dr. Ron Paul.

In 1977 Dr. Robbins founded a Christian think tank, The Trinity Foundation, and under his direction The Foundation has published 75 books, 180 lectures, and 275 essays; hosted conferences and seminars in several states; and published a monthly newsletter for over 30 years.

Dr. Robbins wrote several books, hundreds of essays, and lectured or taught at several institutions of higher education, including Harvard University, the University of Colorado, the University of Texas, Biola University, College of the Southwest, Western Reformed Seminary, and Chesapeake Seminary. He was a member of two academic societies, the Evangelical Theological Society and the Evangelical Philosophical Society.

Dr. Robbins was elected and ordained Elder in the Presbyterian Church of America, and licensed to preach by Westminster Presbytery, but he left that denomination because of its failure to discipline teachers who were teaching a different gospel. He was an elder in a Reformed congregation called Reformation Church.

Dr. Robbins and his wife Linda had three daughters, two sons-in-law, and six grandchildren. Dr. John W. Robbins went home to his Lord and Savior on August 14, 2008.

The exceptionally gifted black American soprano, Jessye Norman, received in 1961 a scholarship to study at Howard Univversity in Washington, D.C., where she had vocal lessons from Carolyn Grant. She continued her training at the peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore and at the University of Michigan, where her principal teachers were Pierre Bernac and Elizabeth Mannion. In 1968 She won the Munich Competition.

A prominent American soprano, Jessye Norman was the daughter of a schoolteacher and an insurance broker. She started singing spirituals at the age of four at Mount Calvary Baptist Church; one Saturday while doing her chores she heard an opera for the first time, broadcast on the radio. She became an instant opera fan and started listening to recordings of Marian Anderson and Leontyne Price. Nat "King" Cole was also a major inspiration for her.

When she was 16, she started studying at Howard University in Washington, where her voice teacher was Carolyn Grant. She sang in the university chorus and had a job as soloist the Lincoln Temple United Church of Christ. In 1965 she won the National Society of Arts and Letters singing competition. She continued her studies at Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, and at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where her most important studies were with Elizabeth Mannion and Pierre Bernac.

In 1968 she won the Munich Competition, leading to her operatic debut as Elisabeth in Wagner's Tannhäuser in Berlin. A major European operatic career quickly developed: she appeared as Meyerbeer's L'Africaine at Maggio Musicale in Florence in 1971, Verdi's Aïda at La Scala in Milan in 1972, and as Cassandra in Berlioz's Les Troyens at London's Covent Garden the same year. These roles are all princesses and bespeak a major part of her stage persona, a commanding and noble bearing, partly due to her uncommon height and size. But this is even more a function of her unique, rich, and powerful voice. She has an uncommonly wide range, encompassing all female voice registers from contralto to high dramatic soprano.

As her operatic career developed, she also made important recital debuts, including London and New York in 1973. She made an extensive North American concert debut in 1976 and 1977, but did not appear in opera in the United States until 1982. This was with the Opera Company of Philadelphia, in a double bill as Dido in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas and Queen Jocasta in Stravinsky's Oedipus Rex. Her Metropolitan Opera debut was as Cassandra in 1983, the opening night of the Met's centennial season.

Her interpretation of Strauss's Four Last Songs is legendary. Its slowness is controversial, but the tonal qualities of her voice are ideal for these final works of the great Romantic German lieder tradition. She also sings the Gurrelieder of Arnold Schoenberg, and the same composer's Erwartung. She sang that opera on a memorable double bill at the Met with Bartók's Bluebeard's Castle, which was broadcast nationally. She has also appeared on live broadcasts of season-opening concerts of the New York Philharmonic.

In addition to the direct and emotionally expressive qualities of her singing, her performances also impress through formidable intellectual understanding of the music and its style, as well as first-rate musicianship. She studies the languages of the music she sings, and has been acclaimed in her singing of Mussorgsky songs in the original Russian, in the German Romantic lieder repertoire, and in French music from Berlioz to contemporary composers.

Baby-boomer Duncan was born in Ogden, Utah, on March 16, 1953. While in college in 1973, he was a founding member of the trio Sweet Comfort, which featured drummer Rick Thomson, bassist Kevin Thomson, and Duncan on keyboards and vocals. The group quickly developed a regional following in Southern California and, in the course of a dozen years together, climbed to the top of the Christian music charts. One writer called Duncan's music "infectious, groove- oriented, blue-eyed soul delivered with passion, emotion and precision."

In 1976, guitarist Randy Thomas joined Sweet Comfort and the band recorded its first song, Golden Ages, for the Maranatha Music label collection Maranatha V. The following year, Maranatha released the group's self-titled debut, which received airplay on Christian radio and on mainstream stations in Southern California. After that first album, Sweet Comfort signed with Light Records and released five albums between 1979 and 1983. Three songs from 1979's Breakin' the Ice reached Christian radio's Top 20. Two years later, Campus Life, Billboard and CCM all named Sweet Comfort's album Hearts of Fire one of 1981's Top 10 Christian recordings. With the release of Perfect Timing in October 1983, it was time for Duncan to go it alone, however. Sweet Comfort announced that it would break up and, in early 1984, said goodbye during a three-month farewell tour.

Duncan launched his solo career by signing with Ray Ware Artist Management in June 1984. The following year, he toured Australia, and Light Records released his solo debut album Have Yourself Committed. The title song as well as "Child's Love" reached the Christian music charts. In the last half of the 1980s, Duncan toured regularly, released videos, and recorded the albums Holy' Rollin', Whistlin' in the Dark, which spawned four singles, and Strong Medicine--which received solid airplay and ranked 16th in sales among 1989's Christian albums.

Duncan then moved to the Myrrh record label and released The Anonymous Confessions of a Lunatic Friend in 1990. The album delivered five singles which topped the Christian music charts. In 1992, Duncan achieved similar success with the record Mercy--which Christian Research Report (CRR) named Album of the Year. On the strength of Mercy, Duncan was voted CRR's male vocalist of the year for 1994 and nominated for the same honor by the Gospel Music Association. His follow-up album, Slow Revival, spawned four more No. 1 hits on the Christian music charts. In 1995, Myrrh released Unidos En El, a Spanish language recording of Duncan compositions, and Christmas is Jesus--on which Duncan performs with a choir and full orchestra. The record also kicked off a Christmas tradition of popular tours on which the singer performs with local choirs and orchestras.

In 1997, Duncan released the upbeat Blue Skies, which he described as the third part of a trilogy that included the records Mercy and Slow Revival. The trilogy recounts Duncan's journey from the recognition of his need for God, through his efforts to deal with that need, and finally to his arrival at spiritual peace. "Blue Skies is saying, 'Hey, there's a clearing in the sky,'" Duncan told interviewer Bob Lupine. "I mean, it doesn't always stay stormy. And sometimes you can't help help but have good things happen to you, even if you're not trying. It's just a matter of recognizing them when they're there.... One of my favorite songs on the record is 'After This Day is Gone.' I like singing it, because in the chorus it goes, 'I believe after this day is gone, long after all the damage is done, there's still a place in your heart for me.' That song is me reaffirming that God loves me, because it's so easy for me to talk myself out of believing that."

Writer Douglas McKelvey called Blue Skies "a portrait of a man who has stumbled upon a reservoir of peace, faith and joy even in the midst of his perseverance.... Running the gamut from plaintive, heartfelt ballads to soulful mid-tempo numbers to upbeat tunes reminiscent of James Brown in his heyday, the songs ... reveal a consummate vocalist and performer." A review in CCM Update described Blue Skies as one of Duncan's best records in years and said it "moves beyond the blue-eyed soul that's become his trademark ... to dig deeper into R&B and jazz influences--think equal parts Smokey Robinson and Sting." Reviewer John M. De Marco, writing in Christian Retailing, said the album "is more organic, less slick, and features fewer effects" than past Duncan releases, while "showcasing his straight-ahead natural voice. The album's lyrical content is intimate."

2. UNCONDITIONAL ELECTION-- "You have not chosen Me but I have chosen you." John 15:16
3. LIMITED ATONEMENT-- " I am The Good Shepherd. The good shepherd gives his life for the Sheep." John 10:11
4.IRRESISTIBLE GRACE-- "All that the Father gives shall come to me." John 6:37
5. PRESERVATION OF THE SAINTS--"They will never perish." John 10:28

The Bible speaks of SHEEP and GOATS! The Bible does NOT teach that Christ died for the goats, it says, Christ died for the SHEEP.

If you cannot come to grips with the Doctrine of Limited Atonement - deal with it - the Bible teaches it VERY CLEARLY everywhere you look.

America's top Calvinist scholar and expert on Gordon H. Clark lectures on Calvinism.

In this lecture, Dr. Robbins will explain the doctrine of justification by faith without works, and he will go over the current justification controversy (the evil Federal Vision movement). The current controversy concerns the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (O.P.C.) and the Presbyterian Church of America (P.C.A.).

The O.P.C. and the P.C.A. both have all but denounced the doctrine of Justification by Faith Alone. Dr. Robbins explains how the current Auburn Avenue Theologians, also known as Federal Vision theologians, are teaching the heretical Roman Catholic doctrine of justification.

This new attempt to reintroduce Roman Catholic soteriology into Presbyterian churches can be traced to such theologians as Norman Shepherd, Herman Bavinck, Cornelius Van Til, Greg Bahnsen, and John Frame.

God's Plan for Salvation - Harmony of the New Birth and the Gospel.



Thank you for waiting patiently for this Part 2 in my series God's plan for the Salvation of the human soul.

In part two, I do a quick 5 minute re-cap on what was discussed in Part one. Then I take a deeper look at God's Sovereignty - an attribute you cannot afford NOT to embrace in it's fullness. I discuss the reasons for this in the re-cap section before I pick up the narration I did about a month ago.

The new Birth is prophesied in the Old Testament in Ezekiel Chapter 37, also known as the "Dry Bones" chapter. Here we are told how God commands Ezekiel to prophesy over a valley of dry bones, and by doing so, they are brought to life, which is a type and shadow of things to come, and a picture of the raising to life of the dead human soul by the Holy Spirit.

"The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them. Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army. Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD. (Ezekiel 37:1-14)

Another passage in Ezekiel is Chapter 36:24-26, where we are told the following:

"For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh." (Ezekiel 36:24-26)

The fullfillment of this prophesy is adequately discussed in Titus 3:4-8a

"But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a faithful saying...." (Titus 3:4-8a)

Once the human soul has been brought to life by God Himself (quickened), the Gospel can be preached and heard and understood by those who were foreordained unto eternal life in Christ Jesus before the foundation of the world.

Here is the Gospel:

"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures..." (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)

The Holy Spirit SEALS that person into Christ by indwelling the Believer. (Ephesians 1:13 and 2 Corinthians 1:21-22)

"For the gifts and the calling of God are IRREVOCABLE." (Romans 11:29)

Our Lord prayed as a man, and as the Mediator of his people; yet he spoke with majesty and authority, as one with and equal to the Father. Eternal life could not be given to believers, unless Christ, their Surety, both glorified the Father, and was glorified of him. This is the sinner's way to eternal life, and when this knowledge shall be made perfect, holiness and happiness will be fully enjoyed. The holiness and happiness of the redeemed, are especially that glory of Christ, and

The Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18, is a concerto for piano and orchestra composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff between the autumn of 1900 and April 1901. The second and third movements were first performed with the composer as soloist on 2 December 1900.[2] The complete work was premiered, again with the composer as soloist, on 27 October 1901, with his cousin Alexander Siloti conducting. This piece is one of Rachmaninoff's most enduringly popular pieces, and established his fame as a concerto composer

At its 1897 premiere, Rachmaninoff's first symphony, though now considered a significant achievement, was derided by contemporary critics. Compounded by problems in his personal life, Rachmaninoff fell into a depression that lasted for several years. His second piano concerto confirmed his recovery from clinical depression and writer's block. The concerto was dedicated to Nikolai Dahl, a physician who had done much to restore Rachmaninoff's self-confidence.

"All by Myself" is a power ballad written and performed by Eric Carmen in 1975.

The verse borrows heavily from the second movement (Adagio Sostenuto) of Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Opus 18, which Carmen believed was in the public domain. Having found it was not only after the record had been issued, Carmen had to come to an agreement with the Rachmaninoff estate. Early versions, therefore, only give writing credit to Carmen while later versions also credit Rachmaninoff. The chorus borrows from a song "Let's Pretend" that Carmen had written for the Raspberries in 1973. Carmen's full version has an extended piano solo and lasts over seven minutes. There is also an edited version of 4 minutes 22 seconds.

The song was the first release from Carmen's first solo LP after leaving the power pop group the Raspberries and was originally recorded by the author and released in December 1975 to great success. It reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 1 on Cash Box Top 100 Singles and number 12 in the UK. The single sold more than one million copies in the United States and was certified gold by the RIAA in April 1976. In a 2006 poll for UK's Five programme Britain's Favourite Break-up Songs Eric Carmen's version of this song was voted seventeenth.

God's Plan for Salvation - Part One.

This is the first part of a basic description of God's plan for the salvation of the human soul. In this part one, I take a look at the difference between the saving Gospel mentioned in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, and I start to explore the harmony of this Gospel with the New Birth mentioned by Jesus in John 3:3.

There are many people who do not understand the simple truth that the human soul is born dead in trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1) and is incapable of seeking God in any way. We are totally UNABLE to hear the Gospel until such time as the Holy Spirit, whom Jesus said He would send after He had ascended into Heaven. has quickened us to life through the washing of the regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, spoken of in Titus 3:5.

It is my prayer that those whom God has given ears to hear His truth will be comforted by this word and that it will help you to understand why the saving work of the Godhead (Father Elects, the Son saves and the Holy Spirit effects Christ salvation through the New Birth), can NEVER be thwarted and why our salvation is utterly IRREVOCABLE!
